Younger Nissan

Nissan is really taking the future of efficient mobility to the next level. With the participation of Scoot Networks, Nissan has turned the all-electric Nissan New Mobility Concept vehicle into a reality called the Scoot Quad. Ten of these 100 percent electric compact vehicles, which seat two people, were released to the public in San Fransisco last week.

“As large cities continue to grow into megacities globally, we need to understand how transportation is changing and look ahead to anticipate what transportation needs will look like in the future,” said Rachel Nguyen, executive director, Nissan Future Lab. “Scoot Networks is an ideal partner in this research project because they are fulfilling a need that has emerged in the San Francisco market, and they share a similar commitment to zero-emissions mobility.”

The Scoot Quad has a range of 40 miles and reaches a top speed of 25 miles per hour. This is also a first for Scoot Networks as all other vehicles up until now have been on two wheels. This partnership hopes to use the Scoot Quad as a platform for evaluating the role electric vehicles will play as transportation options in urban areas to further the goal of zero-emissions mobility.
