Being behind the wheel can be a bit nerve-racking but it doesn\u2019t have to be. It\u2019s important to teach them to stay calm but always stay alert. The road is ever-changing and it\u2019s crucial to be alert of your surroundings and stay calm to ensure that you stay safe.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Practice Hazards\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Road hazards are an important part of driving. We encourage you to practice passing or encountering road hazards best you can. Whether it\u2019s neighborhood interactions, road construction, or animals, it\u2019s a good idea to be proactive and practice a variety of driving situations your teen may encounter.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Take It On The Highway\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This might be the scariest part of being behind the wheel as a new, young driver. We encourage you to take your teen onto a highway in the right lane for them to get a feel for traffic flow, road etiquette, and how to merge correctly. As always, make sure your teen is prepared and we recommend avoiding rush-hour until your driver is completely comfortable.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Keep A Checklist<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Make a checklist for your teen and each time they successfully accomplish their task, check it off.
