When we’re out and about and getting gas, I think it’s safe to say that a LOT of us have that little habit of squeezing the pump just a little more after it shuts off so that we can get an even dollar amount on that total price. It’s okay to admit, I do it all the time. It’s not a good habit, though - and it’s actually pretty bad for your vehicle to do this. You drive a great new Nissan, you should be taking care of it! Take a look at these reasons why it’s actually really bad for your vehicle to top off the tank, and then join the club of recovering pump-squeezers. We can get through this! First of all, when you top off the tank, what you’re doing is literally adding more gas than can actually fit in the tank to begin with. That’s why the pump handle releases - because the sensor in the pump can tell when the tank is totally full, and so when you keep squeezing… well. You can figure it out. That excess gas doesn’t magically fit into the tank, though. If the tank is too full then the gas can go into your vehicle’s evaporative emissions system - specifically the carbon filter, which is designed only to hold fuel vapors, not actual fuel. The gas can then spill on the ground or cause issues with engine operation - the result of which is poor fuel economy, poor emissions, and decreased engine performance overall. The next thing is that you’re just wasting money. A lot of pumps can sense when there’s too much gas in the tank already (as I mentioned above) and after that point is reached, it’ll start sending gas back into the station’s tank if you keep trying to add more to your own tank. So the dollars and cents will continue to rise but you’re getting none of the gas that you’re paying for. Waste! Of! Money! 10 Things I Love About My New 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport Not only is this a great vehicle for the day-to-day, but I can take the whole family along on a great adventure that might take us on the road less traveled. My Rogue can do anything! My husband is super tall - but he can still fit into my Rogue! The headroom is super generous, which is great for not only his height but his neck as well! The technology in this vehicle feels so advanced, but it’s not distracting at all. Sometimes that console screen can be really in-your-face, but in my new Rogue it feels like it’s supposed to be there, and if I’m not actively looking at it, I can forget it’s there! On that note, the technology is really intuitive and easy to use. I’m never confused about how the navigation works, or how to hook up my phone to be able to talk to people over the Bluetooth. The seat warmers!! Need I say more, especially in this weather?? The cupholders will fit even the largest water bottle, which is really convenient when I have to take the kids to sports practice. With the fold-down seats, I can haul a lot when I need to. One time I took my mom antiquing, and she fell in love with this table. Thankfully I was driving my Rogue, because otherwise I don’t know how we would have gotten the darn thing home! With the safety technologies (like the Intelligent Mobility), I don’t have to worry about safety as much as before, because I know that my Rogue has got my back. It also makes me feel like I am in Top Gun or something, with the radar and whatnot. It’s very cool. The ride is so smooth that sometimes I forget I am on a road instead of a beautiful cloud. Braking is smooth, turning is smooth, even going over bumps is smooth. I don’t know how they did this but I am not going to complain! I look really cool.
