Buy Or Lease? Find Out Which Is Best For You!
When youâre buying a new car, youâre not only preparing yourself to make an important financial decision, youâre also getting ready to make an important life decision. No two people are alike, and that means that thereâs not a cut-and-dry answer to âhow should I buy my car?â Luckily, we know how hard that decision is and we have TWO options for you – buying or leasing – that you can then adapt to suit your lifestyle perfectly. Donât know which is better for you? Take a look at some of the basics and then give us a call!
When you make the decision to lease a vehicle, the things youâre signing up for are:
- Lower monthly payments
- A brand new vehicle every few years
- Warranty for the length of your lease
- Service and maintenance free for duration of lease
- No worries about trading in or selling vehicle after lease ends
If these sound like things youâd like, then you should talk to us about leasing a vehicle!
On the other hand, buying or financing a vehicle is also a great option. Itâs a big, important purchase, but this is what it entails:
- Complete ownership over your vehicle
- Ability to customize/modify your vehicle after purchase
- No mileage/time limit on ownership
- No lease-end charges
- Opportunity to improve credit
Clean Out Your Garage, For Real!
How much of your spring cleaning have you gotten done so far? I know that I am definitely not as far along as I want to be, especially given that Iâll start cleaning and then get bored of it or just start watching Netflix about ten minutes in and then give up for the rest of the day. Anyway, if you have a garage, itâs important that you clean it out, especially in preparation for the summer. If it was messy all winter, then you, of course, had to brave the snow, but who wants to brave the heat and then wait for the car to cool down, when you could have had it in the garage in the first place? Check out our guide to cleaning out your garage and then get to work. You got this.
The very first thing you want to do is to take EVERYTHING out of your garage. Literally everything. Car, junk, trash, stuff you need⌠get it all outside into the driveway or onto your lawn and leave your garage totally empty. Then you should start to sort everything youâve just taken out into two piles, one for things that you want to keep and one for things that youâve been meaning to throw away or just forgot about. Throw those things away right now. Dispose of chemicals like paint safely, but just get it out of there forever.
With your garage empty, you should sweep and vacuum the floor and dust the corners. If itâs a nice day, you could even hose down the floor! If youâre feeling super adventurous, consider applying an epoxy garage floor kit. Itâs a lot of work and a lot of waiting, but itâs worth it if youâre looking for a really serious makeover.
With the space clean, itâs time to take a critical look at your current storage solutions. If you donât have shelves or wall storage, consider getting some! Itâs a great space-saving hack to store things vertically. You can even store bikes on wall racks, which saves a TON of space.
Finally, get everything back into your garage, organizing as you go. Youâll probably spot some things that you thought you wanted to keep but are really junk that you can just go ahead and throw away. You donât need that in your life. When everythingâs back in place (or has found a new home), park your car back inside!

Multiple, easily accessed screens give the driver immediate feedback to key performance parameters. The result is engaging, informative, and effective.

Driving At Night Made Easier
Are you like me and, even though youâre kind of young, you have the eyes of an 85-year-old person whose favorite lifelong hobby has been staring directly into the sun? Itâs not fun. I should have healthy, youthful eyeballs but instead, I get to wear Coke-bottle glasses and canât really see at night. This makes it difficult for me to drive after dark, but Iâve figured out some ways I can boost my vision and stay safe on the road, even when Iâm driving past sunset. If you suffer similarly, you might benefit from these tips! Check them out!
The first one is to not wear any kind of tinted glasses at night. People market things like âglare reducingâ glasses that have a slight tint, and if you own them you should just throw them away or use them when youâre at work and looking at a computer all day. The tint in glasses is pigment, which blocks light from reaching your eyes. Sight is literally light hitting your retinas, and if you have problems with your sight in the darkness, then you need all the light you can get.
Even so, the light from the headlights of oncoming vehicles can be too much for anyone and leave you with spots in your vision. If you are about to pass an oncoming vehicle, keep your eyes trained on the white line at the side of the road. Youâll be able to see the vehicle in your periphery and stay in your lane, but you wonât get a big spot in the middle of your line of vision!
Finally, if you really feel that it would not be safe for you to drive at night, donât do it. Get a ride, schedule around it, or just stay home. You can have a lot of fun with a good book, I promise. And a book wonât put you at risk of getting into a car accident (unless, of course, youâre reading at the wheel⌠which I donât think I have to tell you not to do). Safety is always first!
Stay Safe In Rain – Avoid Hydroplaning!

With spring here, weâre in for increased rainfall and therefore wet roads. This means that youâre at a much higher risk of hydroplaning on the road – a dangerous thing that can lead to a crash. This weekâs blog, weâll be talking about what you should do when youâre driving on a wet road, and what to do if you start to hydroplane. Stay safe!
The first thing to remember is not to panic. Donât slam on the brakes or the gas. Hydroplaning is when your front tires lose traction. Braking slows down your front tires, but locks the rear ones and makes you spin out. And because hydroplaning can spin your vehicle a little, accelerating can mean trouble because you really donât have control of which direction your vehicle is going to go.
What you should do is look for an open spot (ideally right in front of you, if youâre on the road) and try to steer in that direction. Donât oversteer! Just gently guide your vehicle in that direction without pushing on the brake or the gas.
To avoid hydroplaning, donât use your cruise control in heavy rain. The water on the road and a loss of traction can trick your vehicle into thinking that it needs more power, and the cruise control will accelerate suddenly and can get you in trouble.
You can also avoid hydroplaning with some preventive measures! Make sure your tire tread is in good shape by doing the penny test (stick a penny into your tiresâ tread with the top of Lincolnâs head facing the center of your tire – if you can see the top of his head, itâs time for new tires), and by driving carefully and slower than normal in the rain. A good rule of thumb is to go at 1/3 the speed youâd normally go.
Take care and good luck – rain is dangerous in its own way and we want to make sure youâre safe and sound in your Nissan!
The Quarter Tank Rule Is No Joke!
When youâre out on the road, the things youâre paying attention to probably include whatâs on the radio, the scenery, your passengers, the other vehicles on the road⌠and probably not your fuel level. Sure, you fill up when you have to, but itâs easy to let your tank get down to the bare bottom before you stop at the gas station. Well, itâs not exactly the best idea to do this, and certainly not to make a habit of it. There are many reasons why driving on empty is bad, but here are three that might give you a little wake-up call and help you observe the quarter tank rule (i.e. never let your tank get below a quarter full) a little better.
The first reason is because your fuel gauge is not always accurate. Sure, there are some vehicles out there that will say cheerful things like âyou have 5 miles until empty,â but even thatâs not completely true. You never know how much is really left once you hit that E until your vehicle physically runs out of gas. It could be 5 miles, it could be 50, but do you really want to find out? There are plenty of videos on YouTube of other people testing it out. Just watch them, donât try it yourself.
Next, your fuel pump uses the gas it pulls in as a coolant. When thereâs not enough gas, it starts sucking in air. The air creates more friction and definitely isnât as cool as the liquid fuel, and your pump burns out very quickly, especially if this practice is repeated often. The repair or replacement is expensive. Much more expensive than a tank of gas. Believe us, because we do that kind of work and we know that a tank of gas is much less expensive.
The final thing is that thereâs sediment at the bottom of every fuel tank. When your fuel level gets lower and lower, that sediment gets closer and closer to getting sucked up with the fuel and pushed through your fuel lines and fuel injectors, clogging them up and destroying your fuel system from the inside out. If you let this happen often enough, your vehicle will need a full flush. Thatâs pretty dang expensive.
Springtime Maintenance Is Important
Spring is here and that means your vehicle is going to have a much easier time of handling the roads, just because of the warmer temperatures and lack of snow and ice on the ground. Youâll be able to pop that sunroof, roll down the windows, and take in the nice weather! Of course, you also have to make sure that your vehicle has survived the winter well. There are some essentials for spring car maintenance that a lot of folks donât know about, but weâve put them into this weekâs blog so that you can get a leg up and make sure your Nissan lasts for many years to come. Check it out!
Start with your tires, even if you drive on all-season tires. If you do use all-seasons, this is the time to rotate them. By rotating tires seasonally, you extend the life of all four tires.
Windshield wiper blades also get the short end of the winter weather stick. Colder temperatures are hard on rubber compounds, and slush from the road is not very helpful when it comes to maintaining the blades. This slush often carries with it corrosive salt used to melt road ice, which can really hurt your blades. Early spring is a good time to youâre running low after winter.
Next, clean your vehicleâs undercarriage. Thereâs no magic solution to getting rid of the corrosive salt build-up but the best tool is a high-pressure sprayer. Pay special attention to the area around the front and rear bumpers. Once youâve thoroughly sprayed the underbody, check for signs of rust and take the necessary steps to stop any small rust spots from eating away at your vehicle. Weâve all seen the âsnow boogersâ that form around bumpers and wheel wells. Thatâs the most likely place for road salt to begin the erosion process. While youâre at it, you might as well wash the whole car. Winter is not really the time to spend afternoons hosing off your vehicle and chances are itâs been a while since the last time youâve washed your car.
Examine your brakes. Like wipers, brakes take on a bigger role during wintertime and should be checked to ensure that theyâre still in good shape. Listen for brake noises such as grinding, chatter, or squeals. Even if your brakes arenât making any noises, itâs still a good idea for you or your mechanic to determine the amount of wear on the pads or drums. We often become accustomed to the feel of worn brakes, without realizing that weâve become used to decreased stopping power.
Check all automotive fluids and top them off if you need to. Driving in the winter requires your engine to work harder and condensation can cause moisture buildup in the engine that creates wear. If your car is due for scheduled maintenance, have the oil changes and be sure to use the proper formulation and viscosity recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.
Go over the interior of your vehicle. This includes taking out and washing floor liners. Vacuum and clean the carpets, and make sure they are dry before you put the liners back in. A nice, clean interior is one of the best parts of driving after all!

Escape The Allergies In Your Nissan
For a good number of the American population, allergies in the spring and summer are a real issue. Sneezing, watery eyes, runny nose, itchiness EVERYWHERE⌠those are just part and parcel of being allergic to the outside. Luckily, weâve got solutions for you when it comes to ridding your vehicle of allergens, because itâs always nice to be able to get away from the troubles of the world and just go for a drive⌠without having to sneeze every thirty seconds.
First of all, vacuum your car often. Take a few minutes every weekend to just go over the vents, the floormats, and the seats. Pollen and dust can really settle into soft surfaces, so try to get rid of it as quickly as you can. Just one vacuum can make a noticeable difference, not only in the allergy department but in the cleanliness department as well!
Keep a bottle of allergen-reducing spray in the car. Febreze makes a great one that works quite well and keeps any pollen and dust that get into your car at bay between vacuums. It also has the added bonus of keeping your vehicle smelling great!
Take a minute and have a look at your cabin air filter. Chances are that it hasnât been changed in a while, and when it gets full of junk your allergies can start to suffer. Your ownerâs manual will be able to tell you how to find it, and if you need help changing it just give us a call and weâll take care of it for you!
Finally, there are some allergens that will absolutely sneak in through the cracks. Keep tissues handy, and remember to take your allergy meds. But if you follow our advice, you should be able to be sneeze-free all spring and summer!
Wash Your Nissan Like A Pro
Washing your car is a fantastic spring activity not only for you but for the whole family! What better sight is there than the kids out in the driveway, giving your car a good wash? Well, weâve got some great tips for washing your car properly. Check them out!
Your first step should be to park in the shade (no direct sunlight) and then rinse your car off thoroughly. The first few washes of the spring should also include a deep rinse of the undercarriage, just to make sure all the salt from the winter is gone.
Next, get your specially formulated car soap or shampoo (NEVER use dish soap) and a clean microfiber cloth or mitt and wash your vehicle a panel at a time in long, straight strokes. Never wash in a circular motion, and make sure to rinse off your mitt/cloth often!
Let the soap sit on your vehicle for a minute while you focus on the wheels. Using a dedicated wheel brush, get between the spokes and in the little crevices you might have missed ordinarily. A lot of dirt can hide in there, so get rid of it!
Now you should give your car a good rinse with a medium pressure blast from the hose. Donât let it air-dry, either. Dry every panel with a clean, dry microfiber cloth. Letting water dry on your car leaves spots, rings, and deposits that are tough to get rid of.
The last step, should you choose (and you should), is to apply a protectant spray or wax after youâre done drying off your vehicle to maintain the nice work youâve done and protect your vehicle from dirt, debris, and other road gunk.
