The 2015 Nissan Murano has earned a “Top Safety Pick Plus” rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). In order to receive this rating, the 2015 Murano scored a “Good” rating in all five of the IIHS “Top Safety Pick” categories and a “Superior” rating for front crash prevention when equipped with Forward Emergency Braking.
“The designation of the IIHS ‘Top Safety Pick Plus’ for the all-new 2015 Murano is exactly what Nissan expected for a vehicle that has always set the trends in its segment,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing, Parts & Service, U.S.A, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA). “This Murano has once again raised the bar for Midsize Crossovers in terms of modern styling, levels of interior refinement, luxury and technology in its class. At Nissan, we are happy to add the IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus rating to the list.”
Standard safety features in the 2015 Murano include 3-point rear seatbelts, 3-point front seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters and adjustable upper anchors; LATCH System and Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS).
Available safety features on this model include Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with position monitoring and Nissan’s innovative Easy Fill Tire Alert, Around View® Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD) system, child safety rear door locks, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones and occupant zone, Traction Control System (TCS), Nissan Immobilizer system and anti-theft alarm system.
