Younger Nissan of Frederick

Dec 15, 2015

Four different Nissan vehicles have been given a Top Safety rating from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS). The 2016 Rogue and Sentra were awarded Top Safety Pick Ratings while the 2016 Maxima and Murano were awarded Top Safety Pick + ratings when equipped with Forward Emergency Braking.

All four models earned the Top Safety Pick rating by receiving a “good” score in each of the five crash tests performed by IIHS. These crash tests include the roof strength, head restraint, moderate overlap front, side, and the most difficult small overlap front. For the 2016 Maxima and Murano to earn the “Plus” rating their available front crash prevention systems needed to earn an “advanced” or “superior” rating.

“Nissan is proud to again have our core vehicles recognized by IIHS for vehicle safety,” said Pierre Loing, vice president, Product Strategy and Planning, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA). “The new Maxima, like the Murano, is setting high standards in its class for styling, performance and interior refinement.  The 2016 Nissan Rogue and Sentra demonstrate Nissan’s commitment to high quality and safety standards, and we are gratified that these outstanding vehicles have been recognized for excellent design.”
