Continuing on with its more than twenty years of assisting nonprofit organizations within the U.S., the Nissan Foundations recently began accepting applications for the 2015 grant year. Ever since the Foundation was first established back in 1992 they have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant money to various U.S. based non-profit organizations each year. In total, the Nissan Foundation has contributed nearly $8 million in grants over the years to more than 100 organizations. In the 2014 grant year alone a total of $715,000 was given out to 31 different organizations.

“The Nissan Foundation is committed to enriching people’s lives in places where Nissan operates,” said Vicki Smith, executive director of the Nissan Foundation. “We want to work with nonprofit partners that are developing innovative, relevant programs – ones that help people to have a greater respect for the benefits that come from living and working together in a diverse society.”

Friday, November 21, 2014 is the deadline for submitting applications for the 2015 grant year. Interested nonprofits must submit an application along with a Letter of Intent (LOI) by that date to be considered. In order to be eligible the organization must have already been in existence for more than three years.
