Currently, the Renault-Nissan Alliance is at the front of the pack when it comes to zero-emissions and just recently the branch achieved yet another major accomplishment. In early June, the Alliance sold its 250,000th car, a Renault ZOE. On top of that the Alliance makes up half the electric vehicles throughout the world. The Nissan LEAF is still the highest-selling electric vehicle ever with around 180,000 vehicles sold. The Alliance sold about 31,700 electric vehicles this year from January to May, around 15 percent more than the same time period in 2014.

“Demand for our electric vehicles continues to grow thanks to government incentives and the expanding charging infrastructure,” said Carlos Ghosn, Chairman and CEO of the Renault-Nissan Alliance. “The positive response of our customers is also driving demand. These vehicles enjoy some of the highest levels of satisfaction rates from our customers around the world.”

The Renault-Nissan alliance has proved to be a good partnership. With six models on the road, it’s the only global car company with a complete range of fully electric vehicles. Two fully electric Nissan vehicles and four fully electric Renaults. Since the Nissan LEAF first went on sale in December 2010 they’ve sold around 185,000 electric cars and since Renault first started selling electric cars in 2011 they’ve sold around 65,000 electric vehicles.
