Nissan and Scoot Networks Team Up
Nissan is really taking the future of efficient mobility to the next level. With the participation of Scoot Networks, Nissan has turned the all-electric Nissan New Mobility Concept vehicle into a reality called the Scoot Quad. Ten of these 100 percent electric compact vehicles, which seat two people, were released to the public in San Fransisco last week.
“As large cities continue to grow into megacities globally, we need to understand how transportation is changing and look ahead to anticipate what transportation needs will look like in the future,” said Rachel Nguyen, executive director, Nissan Future Lab. “Scoot Networks is an ideal partner in this research project because they are fulfilling a need that has emerged in the San Francisco market, and they share a similar commitment to zero-emissions mobility.”
The Scoot Quad has a range of 40 miles and reaches a top speed of 25 miles per hour. This is also a first for Scoot Networks as all other vehicles up until now have been on two wheels. This partnership hopes to use the Scoot Quad as a platform for evaluating the role electric vehicles will play as transportation options in urban areas to further the goal of zero-emissions mobility.

Nissan Works to Increase Women in the Workplace
The Renault-Nissan Alliance is one of the world’s largest automotive groups and has made a commitment to close the gender gap in their work force. Numerous programs have been launched to recruit, retain and advance women in the global and home markets.
At Nissan, the percent of women holding major level positions globally was up to 11.7 percent in 2014, from 10.6 percent in 2013. The Video below, Renault-Nissan Alliance CEO, Carlos Ghosn share his insights about the future of women in the workplace.
“Over the years it has developed into something quite unique; we generally pick a car now that is a little older, have a theme, whether it’s 1950s, ’60s, ’70s, or ’80s, and we dress accordingly to the era of the car, which just adds a little bit of fun.
You may remember the Kelly brothers from last year when we talked about their annual Bathurst Road Trip. Well they are back at it again and this year they’ve gone retro by choosing a Nissan Figaro and some 1950’s attire. This two-door convertible was built in 1991 and is powered by a 987cc turbocharged engine which is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. For the drive to Mount Panorama, the brothers will be accompanied with co-driver David Russell, a Nissan NP300 Navara, and a Jayco Starcraft Caravan. Check out the video above for a quick look at this unique car.

Nissan Has Released Features Of New 2016 Altima
“As the best-selling vehicle in the Nissan lineup, it’s important that Altima exemplifies ‘Nissan-ness’ inside and out,” said Executive Design Director Mamoru Aoki. “With its fresh new look, aggressive SR model and strong connection to our all-new Murano and Maxima, the new Altima continues to stand out in a very competitive marketplace.”
Following in the footsteps of the 2016 Maxima, the Altima has a new, sporty design based off of a concept model that is barely a few years old. This new trend in Nissan, of going from concept to production at record speeds, has already been seen in the aforementioned Maxima (was the Nissan Sport Sedan Concept) and the Murano (was the Nissan Resonance Concept).
Some of the changes you’ll see include an expanded color pallet, Zero Gravity front seats, a redesigned V-Motion grille, 5” or 7” Displays for NissanConnect, blue sport interior accents, boomerang-shaped taillights and headlights, and 17” or 18” Aluminum Alloy Wheels.

Nissan has delivered the latest chapter in the Nissan “TITAN Truckumentary”! Part eight is titled “The Sound of Silence” and addresses the issue of noise, vibration, and harshness when driving. Many drivers experience the quiet, quality ride of sedans and smaller cars and are requesting that this achievement be translated to their trucks.
“People use the truck to go camping on the weekend, to go to dinner with their families, and they use it as their work vehicle. So it”s important for the truck to be functional, but just as important to be able to take phone calls and be able to work and live in the truck. Quietness is a key selling point for a lot of people for full-sized trucks now.” said John DeYoung, Senior Manager of Nissan”s Noise and Vibration Test Group.
The episode covers the process that was used to achieve the perfect balance between that quietness that customers desire without eliminating the powerful exhaust sound from the vehicle”s Cummins 5.0-liter Turbo Diesel engine.
