Nissan and Scoot Networks Team Up
Nissan is really taking the future of efficient mobility to the next level. With the participation of Scoot Networks, Nissan has turned the all-electric Nissan New Mobility Concept vehicle into a reality called the Scoot Quad. Ten of these 100 percent electric compact vehicles, which seat two people, were released to the public in San Fransisco last week.
âAs large cities continue to grow into megacities globally, we need to understand how transportation is changing and look ahead to anticipate what transportation needs will look like in the future,â said Rachel Nguyen, executive director, Nissan Future Lab. âScoot Networks is an ideal partner in this research project because they are fulfilling a need that has emerged in the San Francisco market, and they share a similar commitment to zero-emissions mobility.â
The Scoot Quad has a range of 40 miles and reaches a top speed of 25 miles per hour. This is also a first for Scoot Networks as all other vehicles up until now have been on two wheels. This partnership hopes to use the Scoot Quad as a platform for evaluating the role electric vehicles will play as transportation options in urban areas to further the goal of zero-emissions mobility.

Nissan Works to Increase Women in the Workplace
The Renault-Nissan Alliance is one of the worldâs largest automotive groups and has made a commitment to close the gender gap in their work force. Numerous programs have been launched to recruit, retain and advance women in the global and home markets.
At Nissan, the percent of women holding major level positions globally was up to 11.7 percent in 2014, from 10.6 percent in 2013. The Video below, Renault-Nissan Alliance CEO, Carlos Ghosn share his insights about the future of women in the workplace.

You may remember the Kelly brothers from last year when we talked about their annual Bathurst Road Trip. Well they are back at it again and this year theyâve gone retro by choosing a Nissan Figaro and some 1950âs attire. This two-door convertible was built in 1991 and is powered by a 987cc turbocharged engine which is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. For the drive to Mount Panorama, the brothers will be accompanied with co-driver David Russell, a Nissan NP300 Navara, and a Jayco Starcraft Caravan. September Sales Results Released By Nissan Division
A new record for U.S. sales in September was achieved by the Nissan Division last month when they reached a final total of 111,562 units. This new record beats out last September’s total by 17 percent. In addition to the record-breaking September total, the brand announced that their year-to-date sales for the first three quarters of the year have increased 5 percent over last year with a total of 1,026,920 units.
Sales Highlights:
- Sales of the JUKE increased by 16.2% with 2,108 units
- Sales of the Sentra increased by 13% with 14,196 units
- Sales of the Pathfinder increased by 16.5% with 6,203 units
- Sales of the Altima increased by 11.8% with 24,244 units
- Sales of the NV increased by 35.4% with 1,437 units
- Sales of the Quest increased by 66% with 656 units
- Sales of the Frontier reached 4,617 units
- Sales of the Murano increased by 24% with 5,166 units
- Sales of the Versa increased by 49.5% with 18,053 units
- Sales of the Maxima reached 3,871 units
- Sales of the Armada increased by 24.6% with 841 units
- Sales of the NV200 increased by 34.6% with 1,400 units
- Sales of the Rogue increased by 45.5% with 25,064 units
- Sales of the 370Z increased by 15.3% with 573 units
2016 Nissan LEAF Earns Four-Star Safety Rating
The newest model year of the well established Nissan LEAF has received a four-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. This rating is attributed to the 2016 Nissan LEAF Â earning four stars in the front, side and rollover crash tests.
Standard safety features on the 2016 LEAF are:

- stability control
- traction control
