Versa Note is a Perfect College Graduate Car
Autotrader has just named the 2015 Nissan Versa Note to its â10 Best Cars for Recent College Graduatesâ list. These cars rightfully earned a spot on the list for not only their reasonable prices and savings at the pump, but also for their âdesirable technology features and stylistic appealâ.
The first Versa Note was originally introduced last year and this year a new sports model, the Versa Note SR, was introduced as well. Getting up to 40 miles per gallon (X-Tronic Transmission equipped models), at the MSRP of only $14,180*, the Note is fuel efficient and also wonât kill your wallet.
âAny time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective,â said Brian Moody, site editor for Autotrader. âFor example, while that hand-me-down SUV from your parents was nice when you turned 16, you may want to opt for a safer, more fuel-efficient car as you transition into the working world.â
While similar to the Versa Sedan, the Versa Note has many of its own qualities, including a five-door hatchback design. Many technological features also add to its diversity. An available Divide-N-HideÂŽ Adjustable Floor (adjustable rear load floor height) allows you to pack areas of the Note that you wouldnât be able to pack otherwise. NissanConnectTM with Navigation and Mobile Apps is perfect for those always enjoyable trips with your friends.
The Versa Note is available in five different trims. The Versa Note S, featuring a five-speed manual transmission, and the S Plus, SV, SR, and SL featuring a next-generation Nissan X-Tronic Transmission.
* MSRP excludes applicable tax, title, license fees and $810 USD destination charges. Â Dealer sets actual price. Â Prices and specs are subject to change without notice.

Previously, we presented you with the first two episodes in the four-part series that Nissan has released featuring Nissan NISMO athlete Rick Kelly driving a vintage Nissan Skyline GT-R. Filming this series was a treat for both Kelly and Nissan racing fans as it offered a glimpse into the impressive capabilities of this classic model and how even at more than 20 years old, the manufacturing on this model is still impressively close to what you would find in a race car from today! Additionally, for Kelly, this gave him a rare chance to get behind the wheel of a model that helped to pave the way for future vehicles such as the Altima V8 Supercar that he usually pilots.
Episode 3 features Kelly shows us the unique interior of the vintage GT-R and compares what he finds to what you would see in one of todayâs cars.
Episode 4 provides the viewer with a look at Kelly taking this model out for a few laps on the Sydney Motorsport Park in Australiaâs track and we are provided with a camera view that captures Kellyâs perspective.
Watch the videos below to see the last two episodes in the series:
Episode 3 – Inside Skyline:
Episode 4 – Raw Hot Lap:
Rick Kelly is a Nissan NISMO athlete who is used to taking the track behind some of the brandâs newest and most powerful racing models including the Altima V8 Supercar. In a fun throwback experience, Kelly recently took a few laps at the Sydney Motorsport Park in Australia in a 25-year-old Nissan Skyline GT-R. Through this unique experience, Kelly was able to get behind the wheel of a vintage Nissan race car and be able to compare the power of this classic model with the supercars that he is used to piloting.
In order to document this experience, Nissan has created a four-part video series that highlights some of the top parts of this experience. We have the first two videos of the series for you below and we will be bringing you the third and fourth videos in our next blog. Check out episodes one and two to hear what Kelly thinks of the power and drivability that this model offers compared to the models of today!

In one of our previous blogs, we shared with you how Nissan teamed up with Habitat For Humanity and the Heisman Fund in order to help build a home for a family of five in Los Angeles. Nissan has been partnering with Habitat for Humanity since Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005 and they have also had a long-standing relationship with The Heisman Fund.
In our first blog, we shared with you how all three organizations came together in order to build this house and hold a special football camp for local high school students. Now we are bringing you a behind-the-scenes video that shares some of the thoughts and feelings of not only the Loza family, but from Nissan executives and a few of the Heisman participants.
“It’s great to get out of the office and spend some time in the community working with our dealers, working with the Heisman Trust, working with our people, working with a family who really deserves to have a home. And it makes it all worth it when you see Nissan make this kind of impact on a community and do that in a way that is just genuine. The smiles on people’s faces here, the hard work, the sweat â all that comes together, and we know that we are making an impact in the community. That’s a great place for us to be and a great feeling to have as a leader within the company.”
Watch the video above to hear some of the personal opinions of a few of the participants.
The 2015 Nissan Murano has earned a âTop Safety Pick Plusâ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). In order to receive this rating, the 2015 Murano scored a âGoodâ rating in all five of the IIHS âTop Safety Pickâ categories and a âSuperiorâ rating for front crash prevention when equipped with Forward Emergency Braking.
“The designation of the IIHS ‘Top Safety Pick Plus’ for the all-new 2015 Murano is exactly what Nissan expected for a vehicle that has always set the trends in its segment,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing, Parts & Service, U.S.A, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA). “This Murano has once again raised the bar for Midsize Crossovers in terms of modern styling, levels of interior refinement, luxury and technology in its class. At Nissan, we are happy to add the IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus rating to the list.”
Standard safety features in the 2015 Murano include 3-point rear seatbelts, 3-point front seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters and adjustable upper anchors; LATCH System and Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS).
Available safety features on this model include Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) with position monitoring and Nissan’s innovative Easy Fill Tire Alert, Around ViewÂŽ Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD) system, child safety rear door locks, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), Zone Body construction with front and rear crumple zones and occupant zone, Traction Control System (TCS), Nissan Immobilizer system and anti-theft alarm system.
Nissan has teamed up with Habitat for Humanity and the Heisman Trophy Trust to help build affordable housing and support local high school kids in southern Los Angeles. Â For this new program, six former Heisman winners will come together with Nissan and Habitat for Humanity for a two-day event this weekend. The six Heisman winners include John Huarte (1964), Tony Dorsett (1976), George Rogers (1980), Doug Flutie (1984), Matt Leinart (2004) and Troy Smith (2006).
The weekend will start out with the Heisman winners leading 250 Carson High School students in a football clinic on Friday night and then on Saturday, the group will help to build a new home for Juan and Gloria loza and their three sons. Â Overall, the three organizations will continue to work together in order to create awareness for the need for affordable housing all across the country.
“Working with Habitat, Nissan employees have logged more than 70,000 volunteer hours to improve communities across the country over the past 10 years,” said Nissan Marketing Vice President Jeremy Tucker. “Now, with the personal commitment of time and effort from the Heisman winners, we’re creating a one-of-a-kind partnership that can bring even greater attention to local needs for decent, affordable housing. We’re grateful for their participation.”
