U.S. sales of the Nissan LEAF hit an impressive milestone when the 75,000th model be sold in the U.S.. It  was purchased by Rishabh Mehandru of Portland, Oregon. Mehandru was proud to be the milestone buyer as he has been a LEAF owner for two years and has strongly advocated for its impressive capabilities even recently talking a friend into buying one. Mehandru stated that he loves the LEAF for its zero-emissions environmentally-friendliness and its efficiency that he experiences everyday on his 30 mile commute to work.
“Rishabh’s enthusiasm for his LEAF is a perfect example of what we call the cul-de-sac effect,” said Brendan Jones, director, Nissan Electric Vehicle Sales and Infrastructure. “With more and more Nissan LEAF owners on the road, we see shoppers coming in already educated on LEAF’s benefits because they got to drive one that belongs to a friend or neighbor. It’s that kind of word-of-mouth that really drives Nissan LEAF sales.”
The Nissan LEAF has a variety of available features that include 17-inch alloy wheels, 7-speaker BOSE® energy efficient audio system and leather seats.  Additionally, this model has an EPA estimated full battery driving range of 84 miles* and an MPGe of 126 city/ 101 highway*.
