Four different Nissan vehicles have been given a Top Safety rating from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS). The 2016 Rogue and Sentra were awarded Top Safety Pick Ratings while the 2016 Maxima and Murano were awarded Top Safety Pick + ratings when equipped with Forward Emergency Braking.
All four models earned the Top Safety Pick rating by receiving a “good” score in each of the five crash tests performed by IIHS. These crash tests include the roof strength, head restraint, moderate overlap front, side, and the most difficult small overlap front. For the 2016 Maxima and Murano to earn the “Plus” rating their available front crash prevention systems needed to earn an “advanced” or “superior” rating.
“Nissan is proud to again have our core vehicles recognized by IIHS for vehicle safety,” said Pierre Loing, vice president, Product Strategy and Planning, Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA). “The new Maxima, like the Murano, is setting high standards in its class for styling, performance and interior refinement. The 2016 Nissan Rogue and Sentra demonstrate Nissan’s commitment to high quality and safety standards, and we are gratified that these outstanding vehicles have been recognized for excellent design.”

Nissan Releases LEAF Birthday Playlist On Spotify
Five years ago, the Nissan brand officially delivered the very first all-electric LEAF. Over time, this model has grown in popularity to become the best-selling all-electric vehicle in the world. The very first model was delivered in San Francisco to Olivier Chalouhi on December 11, 2010, and since then over 200,000 LEAF vehicles have been sold globally, with 88,000 having been sold in the U.S.
In order to celebrate the fifth birthday of this vehicle, Nissan has teamed up with Spotify to create a special “100% Nissan LEAF 5th Birthday” playlist that includes 10 fan-suggested songs. Beginning today, Nissan owners can stream the playlist through their Bluetooth connection in their vehicle. Be sure to check out this playlist during your daily travels today!
“Nissan LEAF owners are among our most enthusiastic customers, and we wanted to get them involved in a unique way as we celebrate LEAF’s anniversary, so we asked followers on Facebook and Twitter which songs they would choose to honor the all-electric vehicle’s five years on the road,” said Andrew Speaker, director, Electric Vehicle Sales & Marketing, Nissan. “With suggestions ranging from No. 1 hits to obscure B-side tracks, LEAF fans helped us cultivate the perfect soundtrack for this occasion.”

Nissan Releases New Interactive Brochure Hub App
Nissan is moving more and more into the digital age, and has taken one of their biggest steps so far with the release of a new Interactive Brochure Hub app. This new no-charge app is available for iOS and Android device tablets and it allows consumers to learn detailed information about new Nissan vehicles. This new app was developed in response to the growing trend of consumers shopping for new vehicle on their mobile devices. In fact, the J.D. Power 2012-2015 New Auto Shopper Study found that over half of consumers use a mobile device when researching a new vehicle that they are interested in purchasing. With their new app, Nissan is bringing their entire lineup to a platform that is more cohesive to the trend of today’s shoppers.
“Millennials especially are moving away from desktop computers to tablets and smartphones exclusively to connect online,” said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications & Media at Nissan North America. “This new app helps us be wherever the buyers are, with the information they need to make informed purchase decisions.”
Not only does this app bring the details and visual beauty of a brochure to a mobile platform but it also breaks down the shopping process into “Why” and “Which”. In the “Why” Section shoppers can read through the full story of the vehicle’s development to learn why this model is a top choice. In the “Which” section, the app breaks down the vehicle with information such as color and interior options, trim levels, available packages and accessories and more.
You can download the new app to your mobile device today from www.nissanusa.com/request-brochure. Check it out today and then stop by and see us here at Younger Nissan of Frederick to learn more about any of the vehicles that are of interest to you. We will be happy to set you up with a test drive and answer any questions that you may have.

Nissan Releases Ch.9 In Truckumentary
Nissan has released the ninth chapter in their Truckumentary series that highlights a different, unique aspect of the Nissan Titan in each chapter. For its ninth installment, Making the Grade, Nissan took the Titan XD to central Arizona for its off road trip on Montana Mountain. The trip was taken to test features like the four-wheel drive, drivetrain, cooling systems and suspension. Thanks to the hill climbs and descents, washes and recently altered terrain due to rain, it was the perfect test ground.
Nissan also took the Titan XD to Kingman Arizona, to test the towing and hauling capabilities. What made this significant is that this area has a 6% grade and extremely high temperatures. This gave the engineers the opportunity to see how the engine cooling system and powertrain handles this type of extreme stress.
Watch the video below to see how the Nissan Titan XD performed. After, you can come into Younger Nissan for a test drive of your own!
