Nissan LEAF® Honored
Great news, the Nissan LEAF® not only had a record-breaking sales year in 2014, but it was also named the best Non-Luxury Traditional Compact Car in the annual IHS Automotive Loyalty Awards. It was also the only plug-in vehicle to have a place in the IHS Awards. It received this honor this week at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Presented yearly to automakers and brands that demonstrate a manufacturer’s ability to retain its owners over repeat buying cycles, this is a great honor to have been earned for the LEAF®. That’s because this award is the only one to be fact-based in the automotive industry.
“Since entering the market in 2010, the Nissan LEAF has steadily gained supporters throughout the U.S.,” said Toby Perry, director of marketing for Nissan LEAF. “While the majority of original buyers were electric vehicle enthusiasts, we’re now seeing more and more ‘regular’ car buyers fall in love with LEAF because of its many financial benefits, fun-to-drive nature and roomy interior. Our LEAF fans are some of the most loyal customers in the world, and we’re thrilled to see that validated with this IHS award.”
Come visit us at Younger Nissan of Frederick to see why drivers from Rockville, Germantown, Hagerstown, and Frederick, MD are loving the LEAF®. We’ll see you soon at 7418 Grove Road in Frederick, MD.

“With Dad” Super Bowl Advertisement From Nissan
A new 90 sec Nissan advertisement honoring families was released during the Super Bowl this past Sunday. The spot was created as a tribute to families while also offering a nod to Nissan Racing. The ad shows the story a family of three that begins the day their son is born. Throughout the years, the dad/husband, who is a driver for Nissan Racing, is shown being forced to spend a lot of time away from home as he is on the road attending various competitions. There is a constant struggle seen between the two parents to try and keep their family strong and a top priority while also balancing their obligations to their careers, a struggle that is all-too familiar to nearly every parent.
“The spot depicts a journey that moms, dads and children face in trying to make family a priority while striving to balance work demands. Like many women and men in America, our dad cherishes the time he spends with his family, but the requirements of his job continually call him away,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations U.S., Nissan North America. “But as we see, both parents share equally in the courage, hard work and sacrifice required to keep the family strong as they raise their son.”

Nissan’s 2016 TITAN XD Makes Debut
Nissan recently debuted the much anticipated 2016 Nissan TITAN XD at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. Nissan developers say that the overall design and concept of this newest model was inspired by truck owners looking for a vehicle that was more of a cross between a light-duty and a heavy-duty pickup. As a result they came up with the TITAN XD which offers the power and capabilities of a heavy-duty pickup with the size and affordability of a light-duty pickup.
Available features on the 2016 TITAN XD include RearView Monitor with Trailer Guides, a Trailer Light Check System, Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Around View® Monitor (SVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD). Additionally, this model’s max towing capacity is over 12,000 pounds and power is provided by a 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel engine generating 310 hp and 555 lb.-ft of torque.
“We see opportunity – opportunity in the unmet needs of today’s American truck customers,” said Carlos Ghosn, president and CEO, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
